I value the power in saying “I don’t know;” I enjoy paying attention to contradictions, shifts in perspective, hidden assumptions, and the effects of context; I am as energized by complexity and mystery as I am drawn to parsimony and an effective strategy.
I blend research, art, and design to ask questions, develop practices, sharpen my intuition, and inform my 1:1 work. I use discarded and repurposed materials to record insights from literature reviews, essays, speeches, and poems; to develop hypotheses and gather data; to iterate on designs for behavioral practices; to document the wonder and joy of the process; and to return, as often as possible, to a sense of abundance.
“Systems thinking has taught me to trust my intuition more and my figuring-out rationality less, to lean on both as much as I can, but still to be prepared for surprises. Working with systems…constantly reminds me of how incomplete my mental models are, how complex the world is, and how much I don’t know.” (Meadows, 2008, p. 180)
professional experience
I have a Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Stanford University and a B.A. in Psychology and Italian from the University of Washington. In my career as a behavioral scientist, I worked at Stanford SPARQ, a behavioral science “do-tank,” and at the R&G Insights Lab, a data analytics and behavioral science consultancy within the law firm Ropes & Gray.
